When a beloved television show leaps into the fantastic and violates the trust of the audience.
Similar to Jumping the Shark or Nuking the Fridge. This happens whenever writers get lazy and/or have run out of material. "Ron, I've run out of ideas, what should I do? I'm tired, I'm Toasting Tigh to meet the deadline."
