Yap Gap

What is Yap Gap?

1.

Space created within a line of people, usually at amusement parks, when someone engaged in conversation ignores the forward flow of said line. The phrase was first coined by Laura Botham of San Diego, whilst standing in line at the Silver Bullet rollercoaster at Knott's Berry Farm in Anaheim, California at 5:40pm on Saturday, November 29th, 2008. While originating as an inside joke within Botham's group of friends, the catchphrase caught fire throughout the park with each usage, sometimes even targeted at complete strangers. It has been determined that the volume and tone with which the phrase is used is directly proportional to one's patience level and lack of foresight and/or understanding that a small pause in the line's forward movement will not actually get one to the front of the line sooner. Intense usage of the phrase can lead to pedestrian road rage.

"That 14 year old couple is too busy making out to notice the 30 foot yap gap.........YAP GAP!!!!!!!!"

See disneyland, road rage
