Yard Shepherd Edit Meaning

A firefighter (usually overwieght and unfit) who is of no use on the fire ground. This person will don S.C.B.A., grab a pike pole, and stand in the front yard attempting to appear as if he/she is important. However, this firefighter appears closer to a shepherd herding his sheep.

Firefighter A: "Ann took my pike pole! Look at her, she is standing on the front lawn doing nothing!"

Firefighter B: "Ha! She is a yard shepherd!"
