a person or scene that share elements of hipsters and hippies. Often appearing like hipsters (similar dress, music interest) but lacking the usual apathy- hipsters with causes. Hipsties might work at health food stores, and would be more than happy to lecture you on either the damaging effects of mountaintop removal or the binding gender roles that persist even into the 21st century.
Those kids aren't that annoying, they're hipsties.
